Paying and deposits

    You pay for your rental during the Pay step of checkout. There are no Patriot Hauls booking fees — what you pay goes to the operator. Payments run securely through Stripe.

    What you pay

    Your total is shown on the order summary before you pay. It can include:

    • The rental cost for your dates
    • Any add-ons you selected (delivery, damage waiver, accessories, and so on)
    • Sales tax and a processing fee, if the operator charges them
    • A refundable security deposit, if the operator requires one

    Enter your card and confirm. Your details are encrypted and handled by Stripe — Patriot Hauls never stores your card number.

    The refundable security deposit

    The security deposit is listed separately on your summary and clearly marked refundable. It's collected at checkout as protection against damage or loss. After you return the trailer in good shape, the operator releases your deposit back to you.

    Good to know: The deposit is the operator's, not Patriot Hauls'. If you have questions about how much will be returned or when, contact the operator directly.

    Every rental, receipt, and deposit shows up under My Transactions — including what's held and what's been returned:

    When your card is charged

    It depends on how the operator handles bookings:

    • Auto-approve operators: your booking is confirmed and charged right away when you finish checkout.
    • Review-each operators: your card is authorized (a hold is placed) but not charged. The operator reviews your request, and you're only charged once they approve. If they decline, the hold is released.

    Either way, you'll get a confirmation email once everything is set.

    Heads up: Finish your documents promptly after paying. If required documents aren't submitted in time, the hold is released and the booking is cancelled.
