When you create a booking for a customer yourself — a walk-in, a phone call, or a repeat renter — you can hand them a branded payment link instead of taking their card over the phone. The link runs the same guided checkout your online renters get, on a page that shows your business name.
Create the booking and link
- Go to Create a Booking (from your Bookings screen) and enter the unit, dates, and the customer's details. See create a booking for a customer.
- Choose to send a payment link (the customer's email is required for this).
- Click Create & Send Payment Link. The link is generated, and if you have an SMS integration connected it can text the customer for you. Otherwise, copy the link and send it however you like.
What the customer does
Opening the link takes the customer through a secure, no-account-needed checkout:
Review → Documents → Sign → Pay → Account → Done
- They review the unit, dates, and a full price breakdown (rental, add-ons, tax, fee, and the refundable deposit).
- They can add their driver's license and insurance now or later (this step is skippable).
- They read and e-sign your rental agreement.
- They pay by card. The charge runs on your connected Stripe account — zero platform fee.
- After paying, a Patriot Hauls account is created for them automatically, and they get a passwordless magic-login link by email.
Good to know: Payment is processed securely by Stripe on your behalf. You never see or type the customer's card number.
Already paid?
If the customer opens the link again after paying, it skips straight to a confirmation — it won't charge them twice or re-create the booking.
A simpler invoice link
If you've sent an invoice (rather than a full guided checkout), the Transactions page has a Copy pay link button that gives the renter a quick pay page for that invoice. See invoices and refunds.
