A yard is a place your trailers are picked up from. Every physical unit is assigned to a yard, and the pickup address a renter sees on their confirmed booking comes directly from it. If you run out of one lot, you'll have one yard. If you keep trailers in two cities, set up two.
Add or edit a yard
- In your dashboard, open Business Info and go to the Logistics tab.
- Under Pickup Yards, click Add Yard.
- Give it a name (e.g. "Dallas Yard," "North Lot") and fill in the street address, city, state, and ZIP.
- Add pickup instructions if you want — a gate code, where to park, who to ask for. (There's also a private Notes field that renters never see.)
- Choose whether this is your default yard and whether it's active, then save.
Good to know: Every operator has at least one yard. If you never set one up, Patriot Hauls seeds a default from your business address so bookings always have a pickup point.
Default and active yards
- The default yard is where new units land unless you pick another. Only one yard can be the default at a time.
- An inactive yard is hidden from new bookings but keeps its history. Use this to retire a lot without deleting it.
- You can't delete a yard that still has units assigned to it — move those units to another yard first. You also can't delete your default yard while you have other yards; set a new default first.
Assign a unit to a yard
Yards are assigned at the unit level, so two trailers on the same listing can sit in different cities.
- Open My Listing → Fleet Assets and edit the asset.
- In the Units & VINs section, each physical unit has a Pickup Yard dropdown.
- Pick the yard that unit lives at. New units default to your default yard.
Heads up: Renters only see the yard's city and area while browsing. The full street address and your pickup instructions are revealed on the booking confirmation, once the rental is set.
For setting the rest of a unit's details, see specs, photos, and stock numbers.
