Coupon codes let you run a discount without changing your rates. You make a code, share it however you like, and your renter types it at checkout.
Create a coupon
- On the website, open Coupon Codes in the left menu (in the My Fleet section).
- Click New Coupon.
- Type the code, for example
SUMMER20. Use letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores. Renters can type it in upper or lower case. - Pick Percentage or Fixed Amount, then enter how much off.
- Add any optional limits (below), then click Create Coupon.
Good to know: The Coupon Codes screen is on the website only. On the website or in the app, you can also ask Hank to create a code, list your codes, or switch one off for you. He shows you a Confirm button before anything changes.
Optional limits
- Max Uses — how many times the code can be used in total. Leave it blank for unlimited.
- Expires On — the last day the code works. It works through the end of that day in your business's time zone.
- Min Rental Days — the rental has to be at least this many days.
- Min Rental $ — the rental fee has to be at least this much before the discount.
How the discount works
- It comes off the rental fee only. Security deposits are never discounted.
- A dollar discount never takes the rental below $0.
- One code works at every business you run on Patriot Hauls.
- If a code is switched off, expired, used up, or the rental doesn't meet one of its limits, checkout shows the renter the reason and takes the code off.
Pause or delete a coupon
Each coupon on the page shows how many times it has been used and a status: Active, Inactive, Expired, or Maxed Out.
- Use the switch next to a coupon to turn it off or back on. This is the way to retire a code that renters have already used.
- The trash can deletes a code nobody has used yet. Once a renter has used a code, it stays on your list as part of that booking's record and can only be switched off.
Who can make coupons
Owners and managers. Coupon codes are part of the booking system, so they aren't available on a free listing.
