Tires, bearings, lights, a fresh coat of paint — keeping trailers rentable costs money, and that money should count against your income at tax time. Logging maintenance in Patriot Hauls keeps those costs in the same place as your revenue, so your net numbers are real.
You log expenses right on the Accounting Now page.
Log an expense
- Open Accounting and find the Maintenance & Repair Expenses section (or use Log Expense at the top).
- Click Log Expense.
- Enter what you spent and describe the work. Tie it to a specific unit when it applies.
- Attach the receipt so you have proof for your records.
- Save it.
Where it shows up
- The cost rolls into the Maintenance Cost card for the period.
- It appears as a line in the Maintenance & Repair Expenses table, with a link to the receipt you attached.
- It's subtracted in your Estimated P&L Snapshot, lowering your net income the way a real expense should.
Tip: Log it the day you pay it and snap the receipt right then. Reconstructing a year of repairs from memory in April is exactly the pain this is built to save you.
Heads up: These figures are an estimate to help you stay organized — always confirm official filings with your accountant.
